Chiropractors
are medical professionals who diagnose and treat disorders of
the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. They incorporate traditional
diagnostic testing methods such as x-ray, MRI and lab work along
with specific orthopaedic/neurological testing to properly diagnose
many different conditions. Chiropractors elect not to prescribe
medications and they do not perform surgery, however, many chiropractors
work closely with medical doctors and will refer patients when
necessary.
Chiropractic philosophy
teaches one of the main causes of pain and disease is the misalignment
of the vertebrae. Vertebrae are the small bones in your back that
make up your spinal column. These bones or vertebrae are intertwined
with ligaments, nerves and soft tissues. As you can probably imagine,
this complex system know as the spinal column has many functions.
A misalignment here can contribute to a number of health problems
and pain syndromes.
When one of these bones
is misaligned it is called a subluxation. By the use of spinal
manipulation, chiropractors are able to relieve pressure and irritation
of the nerves to restore joint mobility and help the body return
to its proper balance.
Chiropractors can employ
many methods to treat musculoskeletal conditions. At The Health

treatment, diagnosing, and physiotherapy. All of our chiropractic
