Let’s face it, in many ways our society has changed. To deal with the challenges of our society today The Health Centers offers many services to meet the growing needs of our community. One of those services is Paternity Testing.

Our tests are performed in our office and sent to Paternity Testing Corporation. Paternity Testing Corporation is a nationwide laboratory who guarantees results. As a matter of fact their accuracy rate is 99.99%. They will not report a 70% or 80% like many standard paternity tests, as long as the specimen is from the alleged parent the results will either be greater than 99.99% probability of paternity or a 0% probability of paternity.

Because we use a nation wide lab with many locations across the United States we can even test persons living in separate cities and states. The test is a simple swab of cheek cells taken from inside the mouth. This test is accurate because DNA isn the same throughout your body. Historically blood was used as a measure for DNA, however it was discovered that cells from your cheek are the same as the DNA from your blood. There are also several alternatives to accurate testing if the alleged parents are not available for testing. Other relatives can be used such as siblings or know children of the alleged parents. All paternity tests are confidential. The mother of the child and all adults tested are entitled to receive the results of the test. Results may be sent to others, such as attorneys upon request. All test results are court admissible and usually available within 5 days. We will not give out any personal information to the alleged mother or father about each other, such as address, social security number or telephone.
